'The Karova Lounge' was not a large bar, nor the most popular out of the bars located in New Haven. However, Audrina knew that she would definitely prefer to keep her job as bartender at Karova rather than work at a bar or nightclub specifically for supernatural beings. It wasn't the bars or nightclubs themselves that made her feel uneasy, it was the beings that went there. Most of them she felt were trouble, isolating themselves from the humans because they only saw them as dinner. Besides, her old coven were less likely to to search for her in a small bar that mostly catered for local musicians.
Being a musician herself, Audrina was able to take to 'The Karova Lounge' quite easily. After every shift, she would play some piano and have a bit of a sing if there was no band or other musician playing. She tended to get more tips whenever she displayed her musical ability that she had developed over many decades. When playing piano, she usually stuck to a more classical style, since that was the style she had learned when she was a human. However, more modern tunes would slip into her playing every now and then.
It was fairly early in the night and not many people had arrived yet. The night was still young and she knew that the majority of beings (human and supernatural alike) tended to arrive later in the evening, especially on a Saturday night. Audrina had a fairly easy shift tonight, which drove her to boredom easily after having not a lot to do. She felt slightly irritable by the fact that she couldn't even play the piano because there was already a guy positioned on stage, singing while playing the acoustic guitar. It wasn't that he performed badly or anything, his skills were just average. Audrina had seen a lot of musicians in her time, which made it harder for musicians to truly impress her. Audrina glanced around at the faces around the room from her post at the bar. Heaving a sigh once she saw that everyone already had a drink, she took an old wash cloth and began wiping down the bar for what seemed like the hundredth time.

i make them good girls go bad---------------------------------------------------------- Aleron had decided that a quiet drink was in order before he started his shift tonight. Because it was a Saturday he'd be required to start it earlier than usual - people liked starting their parties at a nice early hour so they could drag them on for as long as possible. Which meant the bouncers had some extra work on their hands, but he didn't complain, because if they worked over their shifts they sometimes got compensation. More often than not he was just there because of the fun, and the enjoyment of it. There was nothing like a crowd in a Saturday night.
He thrived on the energy of the people in the room, it made his work so much easier, to be sure. Unlike so many who claimed crowded places gave them claustrophobia or anything else Aleron enjoyed working in a tight-spot, especially since the music was usually good anyway. Besides, it was fun to see and analyse everyone who came into the club, some to have fun, some to find partners for one-night stands, and some just for the heck of it. And as far as employment went ... if he couldn't follow his dad's footsteps then he might as well do something useful for a change.
Pulling the jacket's collar up to hide the back of his neck from the cold, Aleron pushed the doors of the bar he seldom went to open and shook his head lightly. It had begun to drizzle again, and there would be a downpour soon after, he knew. Well, at least he'd be warm and dry in any case, unless he had to stand by the door tonight. That would be sort of annoying, but he'd live. Looking around, he wondered where all the artists were; they usually hung out here quite a lot, as far as he knew. Still, a drink was a drink, and he didn't bother worrying too much. Instead he walked over to where a brunette was cleaning the bar, placing a friendly, if not entirely open smile onto his face. "Not a lot of traffic tonight I see," he commented as he slipped onto a stool and pulled the zipper of his jacket down. tags ;; AUDRINA words ;; 368 template ;; AMI notes ;; ^_^

Wiping down the bar seemed to be the task that took up most of Audrina's time in her last few shifts. The Karova Lounge was a quiet little bar that didn't seem to gain much attention these days, mostly due to the larger night clubs that were now spread throughout New Haven. Audrina enjoyed serving drinks because she was actually quite good at it, thanks to her extreme vampire senses that allowed her to move much faster than a human being. However, she had to keep her amplified speed to a minimum if she didn't want to draw too much attention to herself.
Even Audrina couldn't deny the fact that there were perks with being a vampire. She didn't enjoy the thirst for human blood, but the heightened senses proved to come in handy in certain situations. She had become an amazing fighter when it came to defending herself over the years. She had only needed to participate in a few martial arts lessons to learn how to defend herself properly. Her vampire instincts did the rest. Audrina had also become a wonderful musician. She had possessed the talent in her human life, however her skills developed more rapidly as she practiced over the years, thanks to her her vampire abilities. However, when it all came down to it, Audrina would prefer to be human again and to learn things the hard way, rather than being what she considered to be a monster.
Audrina's dazzling eyes shot up as the handsome young man took a seat in front of her at the bar. She was surprised to see a friendly smile upon his face, not many of Karova's customers showed this much friendliness or enthusiasm as she served them, unless they were hitting on her. Audrina wondered for a moment if the man in front of her intended on hitting on her, but some how her instincts told her that he was being genuinely friendly. "There's not a lot of traffic here every night. As long as I get paid, I'm happy." Audrina replied with a toothless smile. "What can I get for you?" Audrina asked professionally as she observed the man more closely.
